Definition of Luksong Tinik
Luksong Tinik is a traditional Filipino game that involves jumping over or avoiding thorn-like obstacles, represented by the raised hands of players. The name "Luksong Tinik" translates to jumping over thorns" in English, with "luksong" meaning "jumping" and "tinik" meaning "thorn.
How to Play
In Luksong Tinik, two players sit on the ground with their arms extended in front of them, forming a kind of "tinik" or thorn-like shape. The rest of the players take turns jumping over the "tinik" created by these two players. With each round, the height or width between the hands of the two players increases, making it more difficult for the jumpers to clear the obstacle. The game continues until a player fails to jump successfully or touch the "tinik." The player who successfully jumps over the widest and highest "tinik" wins.
